Pierre-Alex

Pierre-Alex Maillard brings over 15 years of boutique hotel management experience in some of the most appealing destinations: Hotel Christopher in St. Barth and most recently at The Montauk Beach House in the Hamptons, NY. Pierre-Alex leads the Serafina Beach Hotel opening and oversees daily operations focusing on creating a personalized, yet laid-back experience for each of our urban travelers, and positioning the hotel as the premiere lifestyle destination on the island.

Director of Sales

Betsy

Consistently ranked as the top salesperson during her 15 years at the renowned El San Juan Hotel & Casino, Betsy Mujica brings valuable luxury hospitality experience to Serafina Beach Hotel. Betsy held senior sales & marketing roles at various iconic hotels on the island, including the W Vieques Island Retreat & Spa. Most recently, she was a key-player in the repositioning & re-branding of the San Juan Water Beach Club Hotel, Puerto Rico's first ever boutique property.

Front-Office Operations Manager

Juan

Juan Castro is an expert in guest relations, bringing over 20 years of hospitality experience to his position as Front-Office Operations Manager for Serafina Beach Hotel. A San Juan local, Juan possesses a wealth of knowledge about Puerto Rico, making him a great resource for guests. Juan will lead the front-of-house staff and oversee all guest relations by training staff and implementing programs and protocol to ensure guest satisfaction.

Head Chef

Luis

Luis Guzmán brings more than 25 years of culinary experience to Serafina Beach Hotel. Chef Guzmán utilizes his extensive fine dining background & Puerto Rican roots to create dishes that showcase local ingredients and indigenous flavors, fused with Serafina’s Italian roots. As part of the opening team, Chef Guzmán initially served as our Sous Chef. As Head Chef, he will be spearheading the culinary teams at our three exquisite dining options: aMare, PiñaCo, & By the Pool.

Leisure Transient Manager

Johanna

A 23-year veteran in the travel industry, Johanna González Muriel brings her sales expertise and passion for hospitality to her new position as Leisure Transient & Wholesale Manager at Serafina. Throughout her career, she has served in various hospitality roles, focusing on sales and concierge services. With her strong experience within the luxury resort industry, Johanna will build and strengthen liaisons with existing and new customers to ensure client & guest satisfaction.

Food & Beverage Director

Luis

Luis Nieves, an eight-year veteran in the hospitality industry, brings his expertise and passion for customer service to his new position as Food & Beverage Director at Serafina Beach Hotel. Luis will launch all three of Serafina Beach Hotel's exquisite dining options, and will manage and train all food and beverage staff, create seasonal and culturally-rich programming, and will oversee daily operations at aMare, PiñaCo, & By the Pool.
